The Old Testament the Church reads
Most English Bibles translate the Old Testament from the Hebrew Masoretic text. The Orthodox Church reads the Septuagint, the Greek translation the Apostles knew and so often quoted.
That is why an Orthodox Bible reads differently in places. The psalms are numbered as the Church sings them (the psalm of repentance is Psalm 50, not 51), and the wording follows the Greek. The app gives you the Septuagint in Sir Lancelot Brenton’s English translation, with the King James New Testament.

Questions
Which Bible do Eastern Orthodox Christians use?
For the Old Testament, the Orthodox Church reads the Septuagint, the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Scriptures. The New Testament is the same 27 books every Christian reads. In the app, the Old Testament is Brenton's English Septuagint and the New Testament is the King James Version.
Is the Eastern Orthodox Bible free in the app?
Yes. The whole Bible is free, for good, with no account and no ads. Premium is optional and adds things like listening to the New Testament read aloud, offline recordings, reading plans and widgets. It never locks a text.
Does it show the daily readings?
Yes. Every day the app shows the Epistle and Gospel appointed by your church's calendar (OCA, ROCOR or the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, on the New or Old Calendar), and opens the Bible at the exact verses.
Can I listen to the Bible?
The New Testament was recorded by a person, not generated by text-to-speech. The Gospels are read from the New King James Version, the rest from the King James. The first chapter of each Gospel is free to hear; listening to all of it is part of Premium.
Is it available on Android?
Not for now. The app is for iPhone and Apple Watch.
